My Little Pony FIM meme by HowXu My Little Pony FIM meme by HowXu
meme created by :icondon-ko:.

I was tagged by :iconsarin555:. Then I thought: "well, why not?".

About the creature in first demand. " Bai Ze (Wiki link: [link])" is a Mystic creature in Chinese Mythology. Like Qilin, Dragon or Fenghuang, it is very majestic and noble. Legends has it that it only appear when the world is ruled by a wise sage.

The ancient book recorded that:
「帝巡狩,東至海,登桓山,於海濱得白澤神獸,能言,達於萬物之情,因何天下神鬼之事,自古精氣為物、遊魂為變者凡萬物一千五百二十種,白澤能言之,帝令以圖寫之,以示天下。帝乃作祝邪之文以祝之」

" Huang Di, the yellow emperor, once patrolled to the east sea and Huan mountain where he was encountered by a mystic creature, Bai Ze. Bai Ze could speak. It understand the ways of the world and every mystic creature. It told to the emperor about the figure and name of 11520 kinds of mystic creature in total. The emperor order his accompany to write them down and make them known to the public. The emperor then use them as exterminating incantation"(rough translation)

Bai Ze know everything about mystic creature and spirits so it is thought that it has the power to exterminate the evil and welcome the serene. Strange to say thought, Bai Ze talks so much about other mystic creature, yet no description about its own looks and figure could be found in the book. Therefore the posterity could only imagine what could it look like. In The Spring and Autumn Period in Chinese( approximately 771 to 476 BC ), it is described as some herbivores like deer. In Tang Dynasty in Chinese(approximately 618 to 907 AD), it is described as some carnivores like bear. Some even said that the creature lives in Kunlun Mountains, The sacred mountain of Taoist, and its completely white with the shape of horse.

Anyway, I do like the the herbivores figure, so I reference this [link] (from online game: Jade Dynasty ) and this [link] (from online game :Tian Xia) and ponify it. It's still a scratch though, maybe one day I could draw it more completely.

Hope you like it.

Sorry, you lost me there.
Are you referring to Discord and Pinkie Pie in my drawing? or do you mean there are such characters in the actual story of Journey to the wast?

Hmm, From the vocabulary you use, I guessed you learn about "Journey to the West" via Japanese media. well I think there's a few things I need to clarify before I answer your question.

First of all, the novel "Journey to the West" originated from ancient China. The main characters are Xuanzang the monk, Sun Wukong the Monkey, Zhu Bajie the pig and Sha Wujing the sand demon. Note that Sha Wujing is a sand demon. Kappa is from japan, there's no such thing in Chinese mythology. Somehow Sha Wujing was often turned into a kappa in many Japanese adaptation, but in the original version he is more related to sand rather than water.

Second, the image of Sha Wujing was normally a man with a lot of beard, such as: a0.att.hudong.com/90/36/010000… .

Third, the old man in my drawing is Discord. He has nothing to do with the novel. This should be obvious since the novel was created back in 1592 while Discord was created by Hasbro for less than 3 years.

So back to your question. You said that Sha Wujing was sometimes switched with Discord. Well, I really think that is not possible. My only guess is that you might have mistaken the traditional beard man as Discord. I hope this could answer your question. If it didn't, please tell me the media and the series name that you saw this happen.

again i fumbled on my words i meant to say that the kappa was switched with the old man who applejack is protraying you awnsered my question in the second paragraph, but thank you for telling me this. I first saw a reffrence to journey to the west in american born chinese where the story shows Zhu bajie and and sha wujing.
Now in the mega man series there are three robot masters based on the story but as you said Sha Wujing is sometimes switched with a kappa. So thank you for answering my question.
