Is Angel a jerk? In some degree, yes. As a pet, he is not only demanding but also take Fluttershy's caretaking for granted . But on the other hand, sometimes he also can be a good companion such as helping Fluttershy to get the ticket of gala, reminding her of time, or comforting his sad master. therefore I think Angel do cherish his master, only that he's like a spoiled child and often taking advantage of Fluttershy's mild personality.
Even though, his act in S2E19 is not acceptable. He physically abused her by slaping her face and throwing her out of her cottage. I really think that can be counted as Domestic Violence. That's how the story come up to my mind.
Of course what this comic depict is too simple, in reality is is much more complicated. Domestic Violence may result into broken hearts and devastated families by repeating its cycle of violence. How do we end this cycle? I don't know, but I know there's no use doing nothing and believe everything can turn out fine which is why Twilight plays an important role in this comic.
it really takes quite a while making this comic. I'm still trying different way to present a comic. Oh, sorry for the big file. I did try to divide it into 2 or 3 parts, but somehow I feel it was just not all right. So eventually I decided to combine them. Hope this is okay and hope you like it.

Dear lord. It's a wonder how this sort of things hasn't been weaponized...
Though "Putting Your Hoof Down" is theorized to take place before the series itself. So Angel then had learned to be a better Bunny. Still grumpy but better.
Bullshit, the episode doesn't take place before the series itself. Fluttershy is more insecure in season 1. Fluttershy never spoken with Celestia: it's stated in the episode with Philomena, while in Putting You Hoof Down she wrote the letter for the princess. In season 1 only Twilight (well Spike) sends the letters. Plus, you can see Pipsqueak during this episode.
? Just tell me where you see the rage. The episode it's just very weird. The writer never said this episode is from the past. If we will ever have an episode from the past, the writers will confirm that on Twitter.
Eh, I'd say it's for us to sorta interpret. They don't say it is or isn't. I think Faust said something about the episodes not being in chronological order. Like how it suddenly becomes the end of Winter.
Giving Angel a chance to show remorse (Unlike in the show ), Angel specifically getting Twilight to help him, Angel and Fluttershy feeding Twilight, heck Angel putting a napkin on Twilight's neck

Also it could be argued that Fluttershy's disembodied voice in the final scene was her in the present after reminiscing.
