A changeling with a kind heart is likely to starve because it wouldn't hurt its subject, but what if the subject is "willing" to give their love? Like in some fiction, vampires get their most needed blood through blood donation or blackmarket trading. Maybe changeling could live peacefully with ponies that way. As Chrysalis said, Equestria has more love than anyplace she had ever encountered and Shiny Armor's recovery proves that being absorbed doesn't cause permanent damage to the subject. So if Equestria use their love for a diplomatic truce, maybe the 2 races could establish a more mild and friendly relationship instead of waging war to each other.

Funny thing, in a fanfic I'm writing a whole bunch of changelings are saved from starvation by starting a theater company and gaining fans whose admiration they are able to live off of.

I have a peaceful changeling OC. He also has normal wings and legs without holes. You only get those if you become obsessed with love.

Why? Why would obsessing about love give you holes in your hooves?

I actually like to think of the holes as a useful tool. Like say giving them the ability to produce acid and then flinging it at the enemy.

...What is with me and putting acid with changelings?

The holes represent loneliness, like when a lonely person says they feel empty inside. The holes are the void they try to fill with the love they feed on.

As for the acid part, only warrior changelings do that, and that's only as a last resort.

That's....symbolic I guess. Sounds kinda like baloney to me but it could be the reason.

Why would the wings be different though, those things are awesome.

Also is there some kind of faq or something on changelings or you just thought this all up on your own?
